Stylish
new visor prevents travel sickness.
In a departure from the usual pills and potions to
alleviate travel sickness, the designers of the recently-launched
Gamlin Travel Visor, took the view…….and
modified it!
So, how can changing the view of what you see, through
the car windscreen or window, possibly show any benefit
for travel sickness sufferers?
Think brain - processing capacity. Think computer
- processing capacity. What type of information files
really make your computer slow down?…answer,
video files.
What sort of information is collected by the eyes
to be ‘viewed’ by the brain?….answer,
visual moving objects equivalent to the video files
held on computer.
Your brain can be overloaded, just like your computer.
If your computer is overloaded, it can ‘crash’.
If your brain is overloaded, it is unable to deal
with the information, presented to it, in the usual,
logical way. Just add up the following factors, it
is no surprise that your brain gets overloaded!
During travel;
1) The motion - sensing semicircular canals of the
inner ear send a continuous stream of information
to the brain about how they are sensing the body is
moving.
2) The sensors in muscles tell the brain about how
and where the various ‘G’ forces are operating.
3) The eyes send the (vast amount of) continuously
changing, visual information to the brain.
4) To make matters more difficult for the brain to
process, items 1) and 2) , above, are regularly sending
information to the brain that are in contrast to the
perceived visual information.
The Gamlin Travel Visor cuts down the perceived visual
information, sent to the brain, by clever use of the
binary vision effect to reduce the field of view but
still give a good view of where you are going.
Since the visual information is by far the greatest
strain on brain capacity, it makes sense to cut this
down as far as possible, but nobody wants to travel
wearing a 100% blindfold.
The Visor is lightweight ( 100g ), easy to wear,
fits over spectacles, easy clean, has an unbreakable
optical quality visor and has no side effects.
It is reusable many times over, so it is very economical
to use.
Helps you to sleep during the journey by car, bus,
boat or plane, whether you feel travel-sick or not!
